Jen Honovic Herczeg has lived in and loved Philadelphia for 15 years and resides in Bella Vista, just a few blocks from the 9th Street Italian Market, with her husband and 2 year old son. Originally from New York, she hails from a large, close-knit (and loud) family of Croatian immigrants who taught her the magic of good food and bringing people together around the table. She spent her childhood summers on her grandparents’ working farms in Istria, Croatia, which is where her love of food, wine, agriculture and cooking with the best quality, local and in-season ingredients began.
She received a BA in Communication from Villanova University and later an MBA in Marketing and International Business from Temple University. She also has a Baking and Pastry Arts degree from the Institute of Culinary Education from her memorable - and delicious – years living in New York City’s East Village.
In addition to growing up in and around the foodservice industries and small family farms, Jen has years of hands-on experience in brand strategy, food marketing and execution, as well as social media management, and believes in developing and engaging customers through an organic, honest, conversational approach.
Jen has thrived in the food and beverage industry for over 15 years and has worked for some of the world’s top brands, including Starbucks Coffee Company, Whole Foods Market, Chipotle Mexican Grill and local icon, Di Bruno Bros. She is eager to bring what she’s learned from these best-in-class brands to small food and beverages businesses and emerging brands to help them grow and achieve their goals. Jen also supports marketing and social media for Edible Philly magazine and serves on the Board of the South Philly Food Co-op.
